A safer display depends on distance, supervision, weather awareness and a clear boundary between spectators and the lighting area.

Keep spectators behind the distance printed on each firework label and make the boundary obvious.

Keep children supervised, away from the lighting area, and clear of spent fireworks.

Pick a stable area with clear exits, no trip hazards, and enough space for everyone to stand back.

Check wind direction before lighting and stop if smoke or debris is blowing toward people or buildings.

Tell neighbours in advance, keep noise windows short, and avoid late displays.
